Since the day I hatched The Girl and brought her back to our nest to live, The Boy has been very tolerant of her. Even if he's the sole snuggler, and The Girl wants in on the love, he'll move over and let her assume her position as the "hot dog" to our "bun". He'll just reach his arm around her and make sure he can reach me.
Sweet as that is, it appears that those days are over.
Sometime in recent days, The Girl has decided that my undivided attention is worth fighting for! It started with her batting The Boy's arm away when he draped it over her during SnuggleGate. Then, yesterday she was crawling full-speed ahead towards me when The Boy swooped in for a hug as well. Once she arrived, she gave The Boy a full shove to get him out of the way! I have to admit, I was quite impressed (but didn't show her that). She's been shoved around by this Boy during playtime for months! And now he was messing with her mommy and she let him have it.
In other girl news: still no walking! She's taken a couple of solo steps here and there but she is in NO HURRY. She is very verbal though, and points to what she wants alot. She also knows several two-syllable words (i.e. "cracker").
